Internally displaced people and refugees in the Casamance region of Senegal are rebuilding their lives and communities following two decades of conflict in their country. Church World Service (CWS) and partners USAID, Catholic Relief Services, and the Christian Children’s Fund, are working to improve the living conditions of resettled families in the region.

CWS and partners are helping the villagers build and rehabilitate wells, and construct housing, school, health infrastructures. Fifty-nine wells in the areas of Ziguinchor and Kolda in the south of Senegal are being constructed or rehabilitated. Families are improving their income with increased access to income-generating funds, and CWS has also delivered School and Health Kits valued at $129,035.
