Support to Washington Office on Latin America
CWS is helping to support the core work of the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), which is fostering human rights, democracy, social and economic justice in Latin America and the Caribbean, and seeking a U.S. foreign policy that contributes to the achievement of those goals. WOLA's work in the U.S. has a direct impact on the partners and communities CWS works with in Latin America, and provides a new opportunity for CWS regional partners to make their voice heard in Washington DC.
In 2005, WOLA's programs focused on the Andean Region; Colombia; Cuba; Central America; Mexico; Advocacy Training; Drugs, Democracy and Human Rights; Public Security; and Economic Issues. WOLA offers a wide range of reports and press releases by country and issue topics, as well as links and resources on Latin America and the Caribbean, and serves as a resource to CWS and member communions through the Latin America and Caribbean Forum.
