Church World Service is helping local Cambodian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to learn about organizational development, community organizing, health, agriculture, planning, project monitoring and evaluation. The local NGOs are also being provided with opportunities for exposure visits, internships and mentoring to insure well-trained and capable agencies who will become the principal development actors in Cambodia. In this project, 13 NGOs are learning how to facilitate community development activities at the grassroots level and advocate for their local partners to improve policies at national and provincial levels.

More than 8,000 families benefit from the development efforts of these NGOs. The goal of CWS-Cambodia is to build a strong civil society that will impact positively on the standard of living of poor and vulnerable people, the equality of women, and overall peace. CWS's Partnership Program helps to form community-based organizations and self-help groups whose activities are focused on rural credit, food production, access to water, sustainable agriculture, and animal husbandry.

Support for Church World Service helps make this program possible.
