Improving Schools in Quan Chu, Northern Vietnam
Church World Service-Vietnam
Church World Service is helping to construct classrooms and provide teaching aids, new water supplies, toilet facilities, and health and hygiene promotion and training for the kindergarten, primary, and secondary schools in the Quan Chu community in mountainous northern Vietnam. Quan Chu consists of 19 villages, with a population of more than 3,500 people.
Students, faculty, and parents are all benefiting from the program. The students, about half of whom are ethnic minorities, are gaining access to clean drinking water, restroom and washing facilities, and hygiene education. Teachers and school administrators are also being trained in project management. Parents, along with the students and teachers, are learning about health and hygiene.
With the new facilities and training, the students and families are improving their health and well-being.
Your support for Church World Service helps to make this and other efforts to provide clean water and sanitation, along with appropriate training and educational assistance, possible.
