CWS Vietnam
CWS is celebrates a milestone in 2004 -- the 50th anniversary of its humanitarian work in Vietnam. A celebration was held in Hanoi in conjunction with Mennonite Central Committee and the government of Vietnam.
Said CWS Executive Director Rev. John L. McCullough, "Throughout the last fifty years, U.S. non-governmental organizations have played a key role in building and re-building the relationship between our two countries, through humanitarian assistance and advocacy."
CWS began work in Vietnam in 1954, and continues today to help in constructing wells, water systems, and latrines; providing training in animal husbandry, kitchen gardens, healthcare, and teaching; supporting rural clinics, and schools; and providing disaster relief.
