Our Program

The Mission Relationships and Witness Program of CWS recognizes and builds upon the strengths and complexities of our partners and partnerships the world over, insuring that this knowledge is present in all our work. To that end, we are engaging the support of member communions in a renewed understanding of their commitment to ecumenical mission in the 21st century.

The Partnership Study, facilitated by the Mission Relationships and Witness Program, has proved to be a substantive instrument of dialogical relationship-building with partners and member communions alike.

As we work to strengthen common witness among Christians, we are continuing to participate in the Committee on Common Witness, as well as in local, national, and international dialogue between Christians and persons of other faiths, and cooperate with other faith traditions and bodies addressing issues of common concern. We are establishing regular liaison and consultation with NCCCUSA Interfaith Relations office, Ecumenical Networks, NAEIS, etc., as well as member communions, for information and guidance about U.S. domestic interfaith activities. And we are consulting with the World Council of Churches Office for Dialogue with People of Other Faiths. In partnership with other ecumenical partners, we are reviving contacts with the International Islamic Organization for Da'wa and Relief, the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication, and similar other faith-based organizations.

To promote mission to the USA from other parts of the world, we are establishing a working relationship with the Ecumenical Working Group for Mission to the USA and Canada.

Through CWS Forums, MRW is facilitating the sharing of information and expertise, coordinating action, and proposing policy in areas of common interest to member communions.
