CWS situation report: 2008 spring southern U.S. tornadoes

April 29, 2008

Two severe weather systems have left a swath of damage across Texas and Virginia.

In Virginia, three confirmed tornadoes touched down in communities along the James River. More than 200 people were treated for injuries. In west and north Texas residents are still cleaning up following unconfirmed tornadoes. Church World Service is in contact with voluntary agencies in both states, and is ready to support its partners with material resources, training or project development support needs that may arise from these storms.
