Cosponsor's Corner - Cosponsor's Checklist
- Meet the refugees at the airport and transport to housing
- Provide a furnished house or apartment for at least 30 days
- Provide food or food allowances for at least 30 days
- Provide clothing and other necessities as needed
- Transport to orientation at Church World Service
- Assist refugees in applying for a Social Security Card
- Assist adults in learning English
- Assist refugees in scheduling a Health Assessment (with a TB test) within 30 days of their arrival
- Register children in school
- Help with applying for Medicaid, Food Stamps, Welfare, and other benefits
- Provide community orientation
- Assist adults in preparing for work or getting a job
- Provide transportation
- Maintain contact with the case manager and the denominational office for 90 days and help in the completion of any additional paperwork
- Mentor and offer friendship for the family
