SS Card Application | Welfare
Application | Participating Churches
When to go: Your caseworker will set up the appointment with Welfare, and let you know when you should take your family. Everyone in your family should go to the first appointment.
Important: It is very important that you are on time for this appointment. If you are late, you will miss your appointment and further delay your medical card and help with food. You will have to return a few days later in order to pick up the card that will have the money for food stamps.
What to do: When you walk in the main entrance, there will be a greeter at a desk surrounded by high plexiglass. Wait in the line to speak with this person. Tell him/her the names of the refugees who have an appointment, and let him/her know that the appointment is with Ms. Reyes (pronounced Ray-yes). Sit in the chairs, and wait for Ms. Reyes to come out from the door on the right hand side of the office to call your name.
What you need: Bring all of your documents if you have them: passport, I-94 cards, and Employment Authorization Document.
Where to go: Welfare is located at 832 Manor St, Lancaster, PA 17603. Get a map and/or driving directions to the Welfare Office by using Google Maps.
