How to Help - Volunteer Your Time
Volunteers are always needed. Jobs encompass various types of services:
- Providing transportation on a one-time or ongoing basis
- Acquainting refugees to American culture
- Tutoring English
- Mentoring
- Picking up refugees from the airport
- Researching housing options for refugees
- Helping solicit, pick up and move donations like furniture, appliances, etc.
- Assisting an English-speaking refugee find employment
- Clerical work in the office
- Translating for doctor appointments, job interviews and other appointments. Languages needed include Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, French, Amharic, and Farsi. Languages that may be needed in the future: Somali, Burmese, and Swahili.
