A Project Profile: Tanzania ![]() |
CWS is supporting film screenings with partner FilmAid in Kibondo, Tanzania, where refugees and local residents have little access to outside information. The project facilitates social change by addressing issues including health, nutrition, human rights, sex education, HIV/AIDS, and repatriation. 33,000 people attended a single screening at one of the participating camps.
The program has surpassed its goals, reaching a total audience of more than 205,000 refugee women, men, and children.
Special daytime screenings are arranged for disabled people and for secondary school children in the host community. Said Yolanda Nahimana, a disabled refugee, “I am crying because it is the first time someone has shown me a film.”
