Sell Note Cards
Jean makes note cards to earn money to care for his sisters and himself.
To raise funds for the work of CWS, order and sell card sets made by
Rwandan orphans.
Your children could also make note cards to sell. Here is one way to
decorate them that is similar to a craft from Africa, Adinkra stamping.
Make a stamp of a simple design, such as a heart, a triangle, or the
CWS logo. Cut the pieces for the design from cardboard or Styrofoam.
Glue them to a wooden block. Using a stamp pad, stamp the design on the
front of note cards. Set them aside to dry.
(Materials: cardboard or Styrofoam, wooden block, stamp pad,
additional stamp pad ink, blank note cards, and envelopes)
6. Jean's Note Cards
Purchase enough of the Rwandan
note cards from CWS to give one to
each child as a special reminder of Jean and his sisters.
7. African Game
A chasing game played in Zaire (ZI-ear) is "Antelope in the
Net" Find Zaire on the map of Africa on the back of the poster.
One child (the antelope) stands in a middle of a circle made by the rest
of the children. The children in the circle hold hands. The antelope
tries to break through the circle. When it does, everyone gives chase.
The first child to touch the antelope becomes the antelope for the next
game.
