Africa is my home and I love it. The peoples of Africa are beautiful, smart, and courageous even when life is hard. Some live in the villages; some live in cities. I am delighted to introduce you to a few of them. Can you imagine living alone, like Jean and his sisters, with no adults to care for you? Jean is brave and strong to do what he does.

Day One: Look through the newspaper this week to see if there are any stories about Africa. What picture do you get of Africa from these stories? Pray for the people there.

Day Two: Jean was given a goat. Do you have animals? Give 50 cents for each animal to support the work of CWS.

Day Three: Getting good medical care is essential to good health, but not always easy to find. Sometimes the simplest things can make a big difference. To learn how you can help, go to the "Staying Healthy" section of www.buildavillage.org.

Day Four: Where can hungry people with no money get food in your community? Talk together about a way for your family to take food to a food pantry or to volunteer at a soup kitchen.

Day Five: Go to our website www.buildavillage.org and try the puzzle "At a clinic."

Day Six: Jean takes time to help a neighbor girl care for her siblings. Who could you help today?

Day Seven: Who are the people you can turn to when things are hard? Tell them "thank you" today by sending them a note or an e-card from the CWS website www.buildavillage.org.
