"You give them something to eat." Luke 9:13
- Read, or ask your teacher or parent to read to you, the Gospel
of Luke
9:12-17. What does this story tell us about Jesus?
- Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the hungry in
this story. How are the fish being multiplied for hungry people
now through Church World Service?
- There is an old proverb that says, “Give a person a fish
and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to fish and you feed
them for a lifetime.” How do the stories of Jhonny, Jaime
and Mariela illustrate that? How might you and your family help
to feed hungry people?
- Early Christians used the sign of the fish
as a secret code to tell each other where they were meeting. Why?
Because the letters in the Greek word for fish, ichtus, were the
first letters of the phrase, “Jesus Christ, Son of God,
Savior.” What symbol would you suggest for Christianity
now?
