Imani We giraffes have the largest eyes...

You and your family can look out for others and learn to see the world in a new way by trying these ideas below:

DAY ONE Look up more about Afghan refugees in your library and/or on the CWS Website at: www.churchworldservice.org/news/Afghanistan/refugeestories/index.html.

DAY TWO Look around your house for the things that are in a School Kit. How many pencils are in your house, for example? Give 2 cents for each one.

DAY THREE Ask your parents if you have any old quilts that were made by your relatives. What do they know about the quilts? Who made them? When were they made?

DAY FOUR Rulers are important for learning about numbers and measuring. Count all the rulers and tape measures in your home. Give 5 cents for each one.

DAY FIVE Toothbrushes are essential for healthy teeth. How many toothbrushes do you have in your house? Give 10 cents for each one.

DAY SIX Scissors are almost unheard of in schools in some parts of the world. Give 25 cents for each pair in your house.

DAY SEVEN Ask your parents to take you shopping with the money you’ve collected for the materials needed for the School or Hygiene Kits.
