CWS Kits Shipping Report
January - December 2006

The CWS Kit Program is one of the many ways Church World Service shares in a hope-filled tomorrow. Your support truly makes a difference in the lives of children and families the world over. The following represent some of the places Church World Service has provided Kits through your support of this program.

Bolivia

  • 2,272 Health Kits, 1,020 School Kits in support of the Methodist Church-Bolivia boarding school.

Cuba

  • 9,000 Health Kits and 6,000 School Kits to support efforts of partner Cuban Council of Churches.

Dominican Republic

  • 5,250 School Kits and 4,500 Health Kits to CWS partner Servicio Social de Iglesias Dominicana for ongoing program work.

Ghana

  • 19,500 School Kits to partner Concerned Christian Community for ongoing program use.

Jordan

  • 2,800 School Kits, 2,070 Health Kits, 888 Kids Kits and 450 Baby Kits to partner Middle East Council of Churches for on-going program use.

Lebanon

  • 10,440 Health Kits to partner International Orthodox Christian Charities in response to the crisis in Lebanon.

  • 20,040 School Kits, 17,190 Health Kits to partner Mercy Corps in response to the crisis in Lebanon.

  • 30 Baby Kits to partner Middle East Council of Churches for on-going program use.

Liberia

  • 14,850 Health Kits, 4,500 School Kits to partner Concerned Christian Community for on-going program use.

Mexico

  • 780 School Kits and 270 Health Kits to Companeros en Ministerio for economically disadvantaged.

Romania

  • 68,850 Health Kits and 7,500 School Kits to Organizatia Internationala Pentru Caritatea Crestin Ortodoxa in Bucuresti to partner International Orthodox Christian Charities for on-going program work.

Serbia and Montenegro

  • 11,250 Health Kits and 3,750 Baby Kits to partner International Orthodox Christian Charities for on-going programs serving rural and war-affected families.

Sierra Leone

  • 6,075 Health Kits, 3,300 School Kits, and 1,410 Baby Kits to CWS partner Council of Churches in Sierra Leone for on-going program use.

Zimbabwe

  • 1,035 Health Kits to partner Christian Care in Harare for on-going program use.

  • 1,035 Health Kits, 630 School Kits, 60 Baby Kits, 50 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to Pilgrim Rest AME Zion Church in Theodore working with Hispanic and fisher-people in response to Hurricane Katrina.

Arkansas

  • 210 School Kits to the United Methodist Church in Marmaduke in response to Spring storm damage.

Colorado

  • 225 Health Kits to La Puente Home in Alamosa for distribution to homeless families and individuals in the San Luis Valley.

  • 200 School Kits, 90 Health Kits, 30 Baby Kits to Taos County Housing Authority for distribution to economically disadvantaged families.

  • 90 Health Kits, 30 School Kits, 8 Kids Kits to Outreach United Resource Center for homeless individuals and families in the Longmont area.

  • 60 School Kits, 45 Health Kits, 30 Baby Kits to CWS refugee resettlement affiliate, Ecumenical Refugee Services in Denver.

District of Columbia

  • 180 School Kits to Ketchaum Elementary School in Washington, DC for economically disadvantaged school children.

Florida

  • 630 Health Kits and 140 School Kits for refugees coming through the CWS Miami Immigration & Refugee Office.

  • 100 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to American Muslim Association of North America in Miami in response to 2005 hurricanes.

  • 90 Health Kits, 90 School Kits, 30 Baby Kits to Loaves & Fishes for economically disadvantaged families in Lake, Orange, and Seminole counties.

Iowa

  • 15 Baby Kits to Emergency Residence Project in Ames for distribution to homeless and economically disadvantaged individuals and families.

Louisiana

  • 5,040 Health Kits, 810 School Kits, 500 Emergency Clean-up Buckets, 315 Baby Kits to Four Directions, an agency in Houma providing assistance in response to Hurricane Katrina.

  • 2,025 Health Kits, 45 Baby Kits, 30 School Kits, 25 Emergency Clean-up Buckets, 24 Kids Kits to LEAN, an agency providing assistance in Baton Rouge in response to Hurricane Katrina.

  • 1,035 Health Kits, 510 School Kits, 250 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to Plaquemines Parish Distribution Center in response to Hurricane Katrina.

  • 1,035 Health Kits, 210 Baby Kits, 120 School Kits to Saint Joseph Church in New Orleans in response to Hurricane Katrina.

  • 630 Health Kits and 300 School Kits to Boat People SOS, working with Vietnamese people in Bayou LaBatre in response to Hurricane Katrina.

  • 45 Health Kits to Degage Ministries for homeless and economically disadvantaged in Grand Rapids.

Minnesota

  • 420 School Kits to Minnesota Council of Churches Refugee Services for incoming refugees.

  • 270 Health Kits to Housing Access Center for homeless in the Duluth area.

Mississippi

  • 5,040 Health Kits to Pascagoula School District for children affected by Hurricane Katrina.

  • 5,040 Health Kits to New Chapel CME Church in Meridian in response to Hurricane Katrina.

  • 540 School Kits to Orange Grove Elementary School in response to Hurricane Katrina.

  • 300 School Kits, 135 Health Kits to Boat People SOS, working with Vietnamese people in Biloxi in response to Hurricane Katrina.

  • 180 Health Kits to Resurrection Middle School in Pascagoula in response to Hurricane Katrina.

  • 80 Emergency Clean-up Buckets and 60 School Kits to Ebenezer Baptist Church in response to Hurricane Katrina.

Missouri

  • 50 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to Supply Distribution Site in Caruthersville to assist long-term recovery efforts in response to spring storms and tornadoes.

Montana

  • 30 Baby Kits to Fort Peck Tribes in Poplar for the elderly and economically disadvantaged.

New Jersey

  • 180 Health Kits, 150 School Kits to Fellowship House of South Camden for homeless and economically disadvantaged in the Camden area.

New York

  • 576 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to the City of Buffalo in response to flooding.

  • 315 Health Kits and 300 School Kits to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo in response to October flooding and the snowstorm in western NY.

  • 225 Health Kits to Migrant Health Program in Syracuse.

North Dakota

  • 50 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to Griffin Federated Church in response to Spring flooding.

Oklahoma

  • 315 Health Kits to Iron Gate Trust in Tulsa for homeless and economically disadvantaged families and individuals.

Texas

  • 1,890 Health Kits to the Northwest District, Rio Grande Conference of the United Methodist Church in El Paso in response to area flooding.

  • 630 Health Kits and 300 School Kits to Boat People SOS working with Vietnamese people in Houston in response to Hurricane Rita.

West Virginia

  • 1,035 Health Kits to Appalachian Outreach, a Glen Dale non-profit organization coordinating flood/disaster relief for poor and elderly persons.
