CWS Kits Shipping Report
January - December 2007

The CWS Kit Program is one of the many ways Church World Service shares in a hope-filled tomorrow. Your support truly makes a difference in the lives of children and families the world over. The following represent many of the places Church World Service has provided Kits through your support of this program.

International Shipments


Angola

  • 10,020 School Kits and 304 Kids Kits for school students through partner agency Igreja Evangelica Congregacional em Angola in Ludanda.

Belarus

  • 2,700 Hygiene Kits, 750 Baby Kits, 180 School Kits, and 80 Kids Kits to orphanages and hospitals to support efforts of partner Global Assistance Program.

Bolivia

  • 13,585 Hygiene Kits to partner Iglesia Evangelica Metodista en Bolivia for on-going program use.

Cuba

  • 15,750 Hygiene Kits and 1,500 Baby Kits to partner agency Iglesia Bando Evangelico Gedeon for on-going program use .

Dominican Republic

  • 9,450 Hygiene Kits and 9,444 tubes of toothpaste, 2,325 Baby Kits, 12,048 School Kits, and 1,040 Kids Kits to support efforts of partner agency Servicio Social de Iglesias Dominicana.

Ethiopia

  • 2,700 Hygiene Kits, 750 Baby Kits, 180 School Kits, and 80 Kids Kits to support efforts of partner Global Assistance Program.

Ghana

  • 495 Hygiene Kits and 528 tubes of toothpaste, 480 Kids Kits, and 375 Baby Kits to support efforts of partner Concerned Christian Community of Ghana.

Kenya

  • 2,700 Hygiene Kits, 750 Baby Kits, 180 School Kits, and 80 Kids Kits to support efforts of partner Global Assistance Program.

Liberia

  • 1,425 Baby Kits, 1,125 Hygiene Kits, 1,128 tubes of toothpaste, and 1,096 Kids Kits to support efforts of partner Concerned Christian Community and Church Aid Liberia.

Mexico

  • 60 School Kits to support educational programs of Aleluya Methodist Church in Piedras Negras.

Montenegro

  • 7,500 School Kits to the Red Cross of Montenegro to support efforts of International Orthodox Christian Charities.

Nicaragua

  • 19,955 Hygiene Kits to Council for Protestant Churches in Nicaragua for on-going program use.

Pakistan

  • 5,915 Hygiene Kits and 5,928 tubes of toothpaste and 3,000 School Kits to Church World Service Pakistan/Afghanistan for pre-positioning of material aid.

Republic of Moldova

  • 5,005 Hygiene Kits and 4,440 School Kits to Civil Association Homecare for on-going programs.

Romania

  • 15,000 School Kits and 12,150 Hygiene Kits to Oganizatia Internationala Pentru Caritatea Crestin Ortodoxa to support efforts of International Orthodox Christian Charities.

Syria

  • 30,000 School Kits to partner International Orthodox Christian Charities for distribution in Jordan.

Zimbabwe

  • 2,700 Hygiene Kits, 750 Baby Kits, 180 School Kits, and 80 Kids Kits to support efforts of partner Global Assistance Program.

  • 1,035 Hygiene Kits to the Governor's Faith Base Office in Montgomery in response to the tornado and flooding.

Arkansas

  • 540 Hygiene Kits and 510 Baby Kits to St. Elizabeth Help Center in Gould in response to the February 24 tornado.
  • 200 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to Holy Child of Jesus Church in Dumas in response to the February 24 tornado.

California

  • 400 Emergency Cleanup Buckets to Fallbrook Presbyterian Church in response to fall fires.
  • 315 Hygiene Kits to Catholic Charities for distribution to clients in emergency situations.
  • 80 Hygiene Kits to First Presbyterian Church for distribution to homeless in Orange and Ontario.

Colorado

  • 220 Hygiene Kits to La Puente Home, Inc. for distribution to migrant and homeless families in Alamosa.
  • 120 School Kits, 104 Kids Kits, 100 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to Holly Colorado Distribution Center in response to spring storms.
  • 100 Hygiene Kits to Outreach United Resource Center, Inc. for distribution to homeless in Longmont.
  • 60 School Kits to Ecumenical Refugee Services in Denver for distribution to incoming refugees.

Florida

  • 1,035 Hygiene Kits, 300 Emergency Cleanup Buckets, and 210 Baby Kits, to Catholic Charities in Orlando to respond to families displaced by tornadoes.

Iowa

  • 100 Hygiene Kits to the Dubuque Rescue Mission for distribution to homeless in the area.
  • 22 Hygiene Kits to the Youth Emergency Services and Shelter in Des Moines for distribution to children and youth.

Kansas

  • 135 Hygiene Kits and 120 School Kits to First Christian Church Disaster Ministries in Independence in response to flooding.
  • 135 Hygiene Kits and 100 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to First Christian Church in Coffeyville in response to flooding.

Michigan

  • 120 Hygiene Kits to Neighbor to Neighbor Community Service Center for distribution to economically disadvantaged families and the homeless in Berrien Springs.

Minnesota

  • 300 Hygiene Kits, 50 School Kits, 45 Baby Kits to the Minnesota Council of Churches Refugee Services for refugees being resettled in the Minneapolis area.
  • 200 Hygiene Kits to Twin Ports Action Coalition for distribution to homeless in Duluth area.

Missouri

  • 45 Emergency Clean-up Buckets to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Savannah in response to damage caused by a tornado and flooding.

Montana

  • 150 Hygiene Kits and 150 Sewing Kits to Fort Peck Tribe in Poplar for distribution to the elderly and families within the tribe.

New Jersey

  • 105 School Kits, 104 Kids Kits, 100 Hygiene Kits, 94 Emergency Clean-up Buckets, and 60 Baby Kits, to Catholic Charities in Patterson in response to flooding and tornadoes.

New Mexico

  • 720 Hygiene Kits for distribution through El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church in Albuquerque.
  • 275 Hygiene Kits, 150 Sewing Kits, 60 Baby Kits to Taos County Housing Authority for distribution to homeless families.

New York

  • 200 Hygiene Kits to Onondaga County Health Department's Migrant Health Program for distribution to migrant farm workers.

Ohio

  • 180 Hygiene Kits and 120 School Kits for distribution to refugee arrivals coming through the CWS Immigration and Refugee Program Office in Columbus.

Pennsylvania

  • 90 Hygiene Kits, 30 School Kits, and 15 Baby Kits for refugees coming through the CWS Immigration and Refugee Program Office in Lancaster.
  • 220 Hygiene Kits to Outreach Coordination Center/Project HOME for distribution to homeless in Philadelphia.
  • 65 Hygiene Kits and 8 Kids Kits to Inter-Faith Housing Alliance in Ambler for use in their shelter as well as for distribution to homeless and economically disadvantaged families once they leave the shelter.

Texas

  • 810 Hygiene Kits and 210 Baby Kits to Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi in response to flooding.
  • 225 Hygiene Kits to UMC Southwest Texas for disaster relief in Johnson City.
  • 225 Hygiene Kits to La Trinidad Methodist Church in Eagle Pass in response to a spring tornado.
  • 135 Hygiene Kits to Catholic Charities of Central Texas in response to north Texas flooding.
  • 75 Baby Kits and 90 Hygiene Kits to Hamlin County Long Recovery Organization in response to flooding.

Washington

  • 65 Hygiene Kits to First Presbyterian Church of Seattle for distribution to homeless in the area.
  • 180 Hygiene Kits to Trinity Community Church for distribution to homeless in South King County.

West Virginia

  • 2,025 Hygiene Kits, 510 Baby Kits, 270 School Kits for distribution by Appalachian Outreach in Glen Dale.
