- 8 doors replaced.
- 780 sq feet of windows replaced.
- One new toilette and two new shower facilities installed.
- Painting the facility indoors.
- Installation of two outdoor drinking fountains.
- Installation of three air-conditioning units.
- Erecting of a wooden partition which enabled a new computer room.
- In order to maintain
the improvements to the facility the following were incorporated
into the project:
- Beit Al Tuful staff were given a one day training on facility maintenance and provided with a tool kit of basic tools and supplies.
- During the rehabilitation there were informal awareness sessions with the children on proper care and maintenance of the improved facilities.
- Quote from the project manager:
- There has been a striking change in the behavior of the children – much calmer and serene - I presume it is not only due to the rehabilitation work, but I am sure it contributes.
