Intense fighting erupted between Multi-National Forces (MNF) and insurgents in Falluja in April 2004, a year after the fall of the Baath regime. There have been additional flare-ups in fighting between MNF and insurgents in Najaf, Kerbala, Samara and other places since. The health facilities in these areas found themselves struggling to meet the needs of the communities during these periods of conflict.

This project included donated and locally purchased surgical supplies to support these communities.
-
Eight distributions were made to health facilities in 4 ‘flash point’ cities over a 7 month period: Falluja, Najaf, Kerbala and Al Qa’em (near the Syrian border). These shipments benefited people injured in clashes between MNF and insurgents.

A remaining shipment went to Al Iskan Pediatric Hospital in Baghdad.
