Location: Baghdad
Timing: 1 April – 30 September 2003
Budget: $60,000 cash contribution (total budget:$165,000)
$35,946 in-kind medical supplies contribution

This project involved restarting two health clinics, and establishing two new clinics, during the war in April when few health facilities were available in Baghdad. The projected targeted northeast Baghdad, the poorest section of the city.
-
Approximately 76,500 patients were treated, over half of them children, during this 6 month period. The project provided medical staff, medical supplies, and medicines to the patients at no charge.
-
“The direct and indirect impact and the obtained results of this project could never have been reached without the generous, spontaneous and un-bureaucratic help of our donors, offered at a moment, where almost nobody else was prepared to fund and support emergency response projects in Iraq at short notice.” (From Final Report of AoC Partner)
