Reducing vulnerability in Florida

CWS joined the United Church of Christ, National Farmworker Ministries and the Florida Farmworker Association to further examine the relationship between pesticides used in farming and pollutant run-off. The partnership is working to ensure adequate protections are followed to keep pesticides from washing into private property, and to ensure farm owners follow safety guidelines limiting workers' contact with chemicals.

Flood response in Mozambique

CWS continues to support the work of long-time partner, Christian Council of Mozambique as it works to meet the needs of those displaced by recent flooding. An estimated 258,000 people remain displaced. While the last major flooding event killed more than 700, efforts by CCM and other groups to help educate and prepare Mozambique's citizens for evacuation have drastically reduced this disaster's fatalities.
