Irina Romero, a 5-year old Guarani girl in the village of Bananal, has gathered firewood in the forest but to get to her family's small lot she must carry it across a huge tomato plantation owned by outsiders. CWS is working here and in other indigenous communities throughout the Chaco to help empower and equip indigenous families to fight to defend their lands and civil rights.
