Tsunami Recovery in India

Church World Service has supported the recovery work of long-time CWS partner Church's Auxiliary for Social Action, CASA, in response to the December 2004 tsunami in southern India.  CASA has helped to construct 4,000 permanent homes in some of the worst-affected areas, and in April 2007 celebrated the completion of 53 new homes and a multipurpose disaster shelter in the village of South Chinnoor, in the state of Tamil Nadu.
