Response to Indonesia Earthquake
A powerful earthquake struck near the city of Yogyakarta on the Indonesian island of Java on May 27. Some 6,000 people have perished, and hundreds of thousands are now displaced in the heavily populated region.
CWS is helping to meet the emergency needs of more than 16,000 households -- helping to provide food, water, family tents, and and CWS Blankets, Health Kits, and Baby Kits. CWS will also help families and communities to rebound, with support for recovery of water and sanitation facilities, community buildings, livelihoods, education, health, and possibly home building assistance, in coordination partners.
