The Overseas Processing Entity (OPE) is a program administered by Church World Service (CWS), which is an International NGO registered in Ghana. OPE is primarily responsible for implementing an operational refugee-processing program in western and central sub-Saharan Africa on behalf of the Department of State/Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.
We are seeking qualified applications for the position of Caseworker, a position based in Accra (Ghana) with opportunities to travel throughout the western and central African regions. Interviews will be held both in Accra and over the phone. All interested candidates will be expected to be responsible for all expenses incurred with traveling to and accommodation in Ghana should they be successful in their interviews. Below are details of the position:
This position is primarily responsible for conducting personal interviews with refugee applicants in order to obtain biographic and demographic information to complete a refugee case history as required by OPE and the U.S. Department of Citizenship and Immigration Services. This involves frequent travel to refugee camps in sub-Saharan Africa. This position reports directly to the Field Team Supervisor and works closely with other field team staff and interpreters.

The candidate should be of good health, willing and able to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice and under difficult conditions. He/She should be flexible and able to work under pressure and over long hours in a multi-cultural environment.
