A Heap of Food from the CROP Hunger Walk
"Here's what $256.75 looks like in food," says Rita Mitchell, coordinator of the Thomson CROP Hunger Walk (Illinois). "Our local grant from Church World Service provides a heap of food to the Fulton Food Pantry."The Fulton Food Pantry helps an average of 60 families each month, according to Harlan Wiebenga, a Pantry volunteer. "The pantry could not operate without the help we receive from the Thomson CROP Hunger Walk," says Wiebenga.
Rita Mitchell, sitting beside the food, is already making plans for the next CROP Hunger Walk. "I've got the best team of organizers on the planet!" she claims.
