Star Training for Youth in Sierra Leone
Twelve graduates of CWS Seminars in Trauma Awareness and Resilience (STAR) trainings in Sierra Leone have conducted a youth training for 125 teenagers in four areas of the country (Kono, Bo, Waterloo, and Freetown) under the auspices of the Council of Churches of Sierra Leone, a long-time CWS partner.
The program’s curriculum focuses on trauma healing,
spirituality, security, justice, and conflict transformation, and how
they, in turn, relate to building sustainable peace processes in a society
torn by violent conflict. The recent training launched a pilot STAR initiative
to reach a younger generation.
