Hope for the Future

Hope can be seen in the intent faces of the students, studying hard to make up for time lost under the Taliban. “The foundation of Afghanistan’s reconstruction will be education,” says Din Mohammad, school principal in Ghorband in the central, mountainous region of Hazarajat. “Without it, the country can’t progress.” CWS and a local partner are providing some 50,000 students in seven rural communities with school kits, desks, and chairs. Desks and chairs for teachers are also being provided.
